The ZX92 takes the freeride philosophy of the wider ZX models and puts it into a more agile 92 mm platform. The result is a ski that feels quick underfoot and easy to manoeuvre, making it especially appealing for skiers who spend a lot of time in trees, bumps and tighter terrain but still want a ski with genuine freeride character.

The Rocker/Camber/Rocker profile combines a longer, more progressive rocker in the tip with camber underfoot and a slightly flatter tail. The rocker and taper keep the shovel loose and easy to steer, while the camber adds grip and energy on firmer snow. The flatter tail finishes turns quickly and gives the ski a responsive, lively feel.

With a 16.4 m radius in 176 cm, the ZX92 naturally favours shorter and medium-radius turns rather than wide-open GS arcs. It is particularly good at quick direction changes, smeared turns and slashes when the snow gets soft or uneven. In tight steep terrain, the combination of low weight, rocker and taper makes the ski easy to throw around without much effort.

The construction follows the straightforward and effective ZX formula: a Poplar/Beech wood core with two layers of fiberglass. The wider wood stringers help keep the construction relatively simple and light, while still providing plenty of energy and pop. Hollowtech 2.0 removes mass from the shovel, reducing swing weight and helping to keep vibrations under control.

At around 1700 g per ski in 176 cm, the ZX92 is notably light. That is a big part of its character — it feels fast and nimble rather than planted and heavy. The trade-off is that it has its limits when you really open things up in chopped snow or start looking for long, high-speed turns on firm terrain. That is not really what this ski is about.

The ZX92 is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers and makes a particularly good option for someone moving into freeride skis without wanting a wide, demanding platform. For stronger skiers, it is simply a very fun tool for trees, moguls, soft snow and technical terrain.
