Salomon QST 100 Skis - Model (2026/2027)
The Salomon QST 100 sits in that useful middle ground between a dedicated freeride ski and a more piste-oriented all-mountain model. With a 100 mm waist, it has enough platform for soft snow and off-piste detours, while its shape and construction keep it relevant when the day is spent linking turns on groomers. It is a ski for those who would rather follow the conditions than stick to one plan.
The QST 100 combines a playful feel with a more substantial, supportive character. The full poplar wood core provides liveliness and stability, while the basalt and fiberglass laminates run along the ski to support flex and edge grip. It is not simply a soft, easygoing freeride ski; there is enough structure here to make carving on piste part of the fun, too.
The freeride rocker profile combines 21% tip rocker, camber underfoot and 17% tail rocker. The raised ends help the ski release from turns and pivot more easily in softer snow, while the camber maintains contact with the snow and supports edge engagement. The partial twin-tip tail adds to its freeride character without making it a dedicated freestyle ski.
Salomon also uses Cork Damplifier inserts in the tip and tail, combining cork and TPU to absorb vibrations in the rockered sections. Together with the full sandwich sidewalls, this construction is intended to balance a lively feel with damping and reliable edge contact. The result is a ski that makes sense for skiers who want to move between groomed runs, soft snow and natural features without changing equipment every time the terrain changes.

Who is this ski for?
The Salomon QST 100 is for intermediate to advanced skiers who want a freeride-leaning all-mountain ski that can handle a mix of groomers, soft snow and off-piste exploration. Its 100 mm waist, moderate 17.5 m radius and rocker profile make it a sensible choice for skiers who enjoy changing turn shapes and taking the occasional detour beyond the piste markers.
Choose it if you want a ski with a playful freeride character backed by a supportive wood core and a construction designed to damp vibrations. If your skiing revolves almost entirely around hard pistes and precise carving, a narrower piste-focused ski may be a better match. If deep powder is your main priority, a wider freeride ski may provide more flotation.
