Salomon Depart 02
With nearly every ski today claiming to be “all-mountain,” it’s easy to lose sight of what that actually means. The Salomon Depart 02 is best described as a true all-mountain park ski — built so the entire mountain becomes a park, not just the terrain park itself.
Designed for creative riders, the Depart 02 focuses on pop, control, and durability for jumps, rails, side hits, and spontaneous lines found all over the mountain. A freestyle park profile with rocker in the tip and tail and camber underfoot delivers easy turn initiation, strong ollie power, and stable landings.
Full Sandwich Sidewalls provide strength and edge durability, while the Karuba/Poplar Full Woodcore keeps the ski lively and responsive. TI binding reinforcement improves mounting strength, and FX fiberglass layers maintain a consistent, predictable flex. Wide steel edges are built to withstand daily abuse on rails and boxes. And while it shines in the park, the Depart 02 absolutely rips on piste, carving clean turns with precision and confidence.
Compared to the previous Depart 1.0, which featured a noticeably wider freeride-ish shape (up to 104–106 mm underfoot) and leaned heavily into deep rocker and powder-friendly freestyle riding, the Depart 02 becomes slightly narrower and quicker edge-to-edge. This makes it more agile in park setups and on firmer snow while still maintaining the playful freestyle DNA that defined the original model. The result is a ski that keeps the creative spirit of the Depart 1.0 while feeling faster, lighter on its feet, and more versatile for freestyle riding across the whole mountain.
The model features artwork by Sami Ortlieb.
These skis are new and come without bindings, allowing riders to choose their own freestyle setup.
