Kästle FX 116 (Model 20/21)
The Kästle FX 116 is a proper powder ski, designed around flotation, stability and high-speed performance in deep snow. With 116 mm underfoot, a pronounced rocker and increased taper compared with the narrower FX models, it is made to stay high in soft snow and make big lines feel considerably more manageable.
The lightweight TRI construction combines a triple wood core with a carbon-fibreglass wrap. The core uses poplar and paulownia in the central section, with poplar and beech towards the outside. The beech stringers around the edges add strength and help maintain predictable edge contact when the ski inevitably encounters harder snow.
Kästle's HOLLOWTECH 3.0 construction helps keep weight down while contributing to a smooth ride. The result is a surprisingly responsive ski for something this wide, with enough stiffness and energy to handle faster, more aggressive skiing.
The FX 116 is at its best when there is plenty of snow to work with. It is a powder-focused ski rather than an everyday piste tool, and its 116 mm waist and long turning radius make that pretty clear. When the storm arrives, however, this is exactly the sort of ski you will want waiting by the door.

Summary:
A wide and powerful powder ski for advanced skiers who want serious flotation and stability when the snow gets deep. The Kästle FX 116 combines a 116 mm waist with a lightweight carbon-fibreglass construction, substantial rocker and a long radius. Not the ski you reach for when the groomers are the main event — but when there is deep snow on the menu, it makes a very convincing case for itself.
