Black Crows Mirus Cor

The Mirus Cor is what happens when a carving ski gets way too into freestyle. With 87 mm underfoot and a ridiculous 13 m radius, it turns like a ski that has no interest in going straight. Tip it onto edge and it snaps into a tight, energetic carve almost immediately. But unlike a proper slalom-style ski, you can bail out of the turn whenever you feel like it. Slash the tail, smear across the piste, pop off a roller or just throw the whole thing sideways. The Mirus Cor is seriously good at making a groomer feel like a playground.

The reason is the shape. That tiny radius gives it the instant reaction, while the generous rocker in the tip and tail, relatively soft flex and -3.5 cm mounting point completely change how that turn behaves. There is enough grip through the ski to lay down a proper carve, but the rockered tail releases easily instead of locking you into the exit of the turn. The single titanal plate adds some snap and support without turning the Mirus Cor into a heavy, demanding carving machine. Add the twin-tip-inspired shape and fishtail and you end up with something that feels much closer to a freestyle ski than its carving performance would suggest.

And that's exactly why we love it. You can spend a morning laying trenches on groomers, then start looking for rollers, side hits and little transitions on the way back to the lift. Short turns are ridiculously easy. Slashes are even easier. Hit a jump, land switch, butter a roller, then go straight back into a 13 m carve. It isn't the ski we'd pick for charging through chopped snow or hunting for maximum stability at top speed. It doesn't need to be. The Mirus Cor has a much more specific job: make carving fun for skiers who don't want to just carve. If every piste, roller and side hit looks like an excuse to get creative, the Mirus Cor is going to make a lot of sense. There’s simply not much else quite like it.

Who is the Mirus Cor for?

For skiers who don't want to choose between carving and freestyle. If you spend most of your day on groomers but see every side hit, roller and transition as an invitation, this is your kind of ski. Short turns, deep carves, slashes, switch, jumps — the Mirus Cor is at its best when you stop skiing the piste in the conventional way.
