Marker Griffon X 13 - Model 2026/2027
The Marker Griffon X 13 takes one of freestyle skiing’s most established bindings and pushes it in a more performance-focused direction. With a DIN range of 4–13 and an exceptionally low 9 mm toe height, it brings your boot closer to the ski than a conventional binding. The difference is a more direct connection underfoot, with quicker response and a more immediate feel when you put the ski on edge or make a fast adjustment. For freestyle and freeride skiers who like their equipment to react the moment they do, that’s the main attraction.
The ultra-low profile is the defining feature. The toe height is just 9 mm, with a 14 mm heel height and a 5 mm ramp angle. This keeps you close to the ski while maintaining a relatively small difference in height between the toe and heel. The Griffon X shares its metal components with the Jester X, giving it a substantial construction in a slightly lighter package than its bigger sibling. It also features an integrated brake unit and an ice scraper to help clear snow from your boot sole before stepping in. The heel has 20 mm of adjustment range, and the binding accepts both Alpine and GripWalk boot soles.
On snow, the Griffon X is all about precision and immediate feedback. It makes sense for park skiing, rails, switch-ups and freeride lines where quick, accurate input matters. Being so close to the ski can also feel particularly good on rails, where the reduced distance between your boot and the feature helps create a more connected feel. The trade-off is that the low stack height gives you less leverage for extreme edge angles and buttering, while the direct connection transmits more of what the ski is doing rather than smoothing it out. If you want a damp, forgiving feel or prioritise maximum leverage for deep carving, a more conventional binding may suit you better. If you want a highly responsive freestyle and freeride setup, the Griffon X has a strong case.

Who is this binding for?
The Griffon X 13 is aimed at freestyle and freeride skiers who want a direct, precise connection to their skis. It makes particular sense for park skiers, jibbers and riders who value quick edge response, balance on rails and immediate feedback when skiing aggressively.
Who is it not for?
If your priority is maximum leverage for deep carving angles, easy buttering or a more damp, muted feel, the ultra-low profile may not be your first choice. The Griffon X is built around direct response rather than filtering out every bit of feedback. As with any binding, make sure the boot sole is compatible and have the binding selected, mounted and adjusted by a qualified ski technician.
