Fritschi Xenic Plus 10 – 2026/27
The Fritschi Xenic Plus 10 is built for touring skiers who spend more time climbing than counting lift rides. It keeps weight down while retaining thoughtful safety features and a design that still feels at home on the descent. The Plus version comes with two climbing aids, giving you more flexibility when the skin track gets steeper.
A pin toe designed for easier entry
The Xenic Plus 10 features Fritschi’s laterally opening pin toe. Instead of rotating around a fixed point, the pins open sideways, helping make entry straightforward and improving resistance to unwanted release from impacts coming from below. The toe is also designed to allow vertical release in walking mode.
Guiding stops beneath and beside the boot, together with a sensitive trigger, help position the boot correctly during entry—even when visibility is poor or the slope is steep. The toe combines carbon and modern polymers with metal reinforcements for durability.
Compatible crampons are available in 85, 95 and 105 mm widths. There is also an attachment point for a safety leash when using the binding without brakes.
Adjustable release and an active heel
The rotating heel offers a lateral release setting of DIN 4–10, adjusted via a screw at the rear. Its independently rotating pins support vertical release, while the heel can deflect by up to 13 mm before release to help reduce unwanted release from impacts and vibration.
The active heel can also move by up to 10 mm as the ski flexes, helping it bend more naturally under load. Switching between touring and skiing modes is simple: rotate the heel, using the raised climbing support for extra leverage.
Two climbing aids for changing terrain
The Xenic Plus 10 comes with two climbing aids, offering heel-rise angles of 7° and 11°. That gives you options for different gradients and snow conditions without adding unnecessary complexity to your setup.
At a listed 280 g per binding without brakes, it is aimed at weight-conscious tourers who still want a binding designed with downhill control and safety in mind. Brakes are included according to the supplied specifications.

Is This the Right Binding for You?
The Xenic Plus 10 is a good match for touring skiers who want to keep their setup light while retaining an adjustable DIN 4–10 release, a safety-focused toe and an active heel. The two climbing aids are useful when the gradient changes throughout the day. It requires compatible touring boots with pin inserts, so it is not an option for conventional alpine boots.
