The Faction Candide 3.0 is a lightweight and playful all-mountain ski from the Candide Thovex series, combining a 108 mm waist with a strongly freestyle-influenced character. It has enough strength for fast skiing and bigger terrain, but is equally happy buttering, popping and going sideways. It is built for skiers who see the whole mountain as a playground.

The lightweight balsa/flax hybrid core offers an impressive combination of low weight, stiffness and pop. Micro-cap construction and Titanal mounting plates add stability and durability around the binding area. Low camber with rocker in the tip and tail keeps the ski loose enough for butters, smears and generally playful skiing.

The asymmetrical shape is particularly useful on groomers. Compared with more symmetrical freestyle skis, the CT 3.0 carves surprisingly well and holds a clean line. At the same time, it remains loose enough for switch skiing, natural jumps and playing with terrain. The 108 mm waist provides useful flotation in deeper snow, although maximum powder float is not really the point of this ski — versatility is.

The CT 3.0 therefore makes the most sense as an all-mountain jib ski for experienced skiers. It can handle groomers, soft snow, jumps, natural terrain and fast skiing without being locked into one discipline. There are more stable skis for maximum-speed charging and serious freeride, but few combine low weight, pop and playfulness quite as effectively.
