Pilus Ultra Light Skins - Black Crows Orb Freebird 179

The Pilus Ultra Light skins are pre-cut climbing skins originally designed specifically for the Black Crows Orb Freebird in 179 cm. They arrive shaped to the ski, so there is no trimming required before heading uphill. Less faffing with a knife, more time actually climbing.

The skin uses a 70% mohair and 30% nylon mix, combining good glide with durability. A lightweight membrane keeps the construction compact, while the adhesive is designed to hold securely even in very low temperatures.

Attachment is handled by a steel tip loop and a polyamide elastic tail strap. The tail attachment helps keep the skin firmly in place and prevents it from shifting or bunching during traverses. The skins are also highly water-resistant and made without PFCs.

These skins were originally intended for the Black Crows Orb Freebird 179, with dimensions of 127 mm at the tip, 90 mm underfoot and 112 mm at the tail. Based on these dimensions, they should also work well on skis with a similar shape and size. Since skins can be trimmed smaller, suitable examples include skis such as the Atomic Bent 85 or Bent 90, Line Pandora 92 and Faction Prodigy 1 in approximately 175–182 cm. 

Made in Austria, the skins come supplied in a storage bag with a protective separation foil.
